Wacky Wednesday: Old Food

Century Eggs

While they do not take a century to make that could probably last a century and be okay to eat. Basically to traditionally make them you place the eggs (chicken, duck or goose) in water bath then take them out and wrap in rice husks and clay for a chunk of time. Through the process the white of the egg turns to a amber colored  jelly like substance while the yoke takes on a creamy cheese like consistency.
Want to make and try some yourself? Follow this link to learn how. If you make them let me know how they turn out in the comments.
Bog Butter
According to Wikipedia - "Bog butter" refers to an ancient waxy substance found buried in peat bogs, particularly in Great  Britain and in Ireland. Likely an old method of making and preserving butter, some tested lumps of bog butter were made of dairy products while others were meat-based.
Some of the oldest bog butter found is over 3,000 years old.

36,000 Year Old Steppe Bison

"After finding a 36,000 year old steppe bison preserved in the ice, Alaskan zoology professor R. Dale Guthrie and his team ate some of its flesh. Guthrie said “the meat was well aged but still a little tough.”

Honey
While all the other foods seem kinda gross honey is delicious and it can last forever. It has a low moisture content and high acidity. Scientists have found 5,000 year old edible pots buried with mummies.
