National Novel Writing Month is Coming Soon.

November is National Novel Writing Month (NANOWRIMO).

"On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.
Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel." - from http://nanowrimo.org/

50,000 words seem like a lot but broken down into daily bits it is 1,667 words a day. That is a much more manageable number. Forget editing those words just get them down and edit after NANOWRIMO. Sign up on http://nanowrimo.org/ to participate. From there you can also track your progress,

Every Monday during the month of November the caboose will be open for NANOWRIMO participants to Come Write In! It will be open from 5:45 - 7:30pm.

There are still a few weeks left in October to research, outline and get to know your characters. Over the next few weeks I will post some links to different writing posts that may be helpful.

Today's link is about a novel outlining/plotting style called the snowflake method.
